American Board for Certification

American Board for Certification

 

The American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics, Inc. (ABC) is the national certifying and accrediting body for the orthotic, prosthetic and pedorthic professions. Since its inception in 1948, ABC has become the quality standard in orthotic, prosthetic and pedorthic certification and today has more than 14,000 certified individuals and over 7,000 accredited facilities.

Since the founding of our first hospital in 1922, treating orthopaedic conditions has been the foundation of Shriners Hospitals for Children®. The diseases and disorders we treat are wide-ranging and diverse. Whether we are treating bone deformities such as clubfoot, neuromuscular conditions such as cerebral palsy or genetic anomalies such as achondroplasia, our goal is to help each child become as functional and healthy as possible.

You may be eligible for one-on-one support, counseling, and training to boost your skills and build your career through VA's Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment program, available to transitioning Servicemembers and Veterans. Family members caring for a service-disabled Veteran may also be eligible for career assistance, job training, and other services.

United Way Amputee Support

United Way Amputee Support

 

Provides and promotes resources and information to assist amputees in independent living. Educates consumers at local, state & national levels. Represents amputees to the media and other professional, public and related groups. Provides visitation service to hospitals and homes to answer questions and issues of amputees.

State of Nevada Voc Rehabilitation

 

The Department of Employment, Training & Rehabilitation’s (DETR)Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation is a state and federally funded program designed to help people with disabilities become employed and to help those already employed perform more successfully through training, counseling and other support methods.
